The People’s Labour Party (PLP) was founded in 2013. It was started by the people and for the people. What started as an idea has turned into a movement to promote Unity, Prosperity and Opportunity as well as Safety and Security of St. Kitts and Nevis. Dr. The Honourable Timothy Harris was selected as leader of the party and in 2015 his Team Unity led the Unity construct defeating the 20 year dictatorial regime of Denzel Douglas. Timothy Harris and his PLP led government ushered in unprecedented economic growth, safe neighborhoods after decades of Labour Party’s neglect, provided financial security during the COVID crisis, and introduced transformative programmes creating the foundation for prosperity for all. Innovative economic management has created jobs, offered real opportunities for young people, shielded the nation from external threats, and delivered successful government initiatives. With a strong economic plan in place, PLP is committed to sustaining growth and enhancing peace and security to ensure lasting stability.

St Kitt’s and Nevis is more unsafe than ever before under Dr. Drew’s labour government. They have done away with the Peace Programme that lowered crime and moreover made the people feel safe. Today, all of us feel unsafe, businesses, residents and tourist included. Under the PLP led government public safety was priority and we decreased gang-related activities and violence to some of the lowest levels ever. It fostered a feeling of community and encouraged group efforts to uphold peace and assist those who are vulnerable. This program has given young people another chance to develop new skills that can be used to secure better job opportunities and improve their quality of life.
